But then, you remember that it's not really funny. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a groan.

In the end, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You question about the nature of it all. Was this a joke?

Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?

Dreadful Day Ever

It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was getting ready out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was completely running behind for a very important appointment.

By the time I reached my destination, I was completely drained. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out badly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
